FAQs: Covid Procedures
Despite very positive feedback from you all about being back at the centre and feeling safe and supported here, we thought it might be useful to do a bit of an FAQ on some of the queries that are popping up at reception and on the phone. If you still feel you have questions after reading this lot, please do give us a shout via any of the usual methods and we’ll get back to you asap!
Can I arrive early for my climbing slot?
Please try not to! If you arrive early for your booked slot, we ask that you wait in your car or in the car park, and get ready to queue at the entrance no more than five minutes beforehand. This gives us time to do our cleaning regime between booked slots and make it safe for your session.
I have prepaid for my climbing with a membership or a punchcard, but I am booking for people that need to pay. How do I do this?
When booking just select the monthly or prepaid option for yourself and then select the Adult or Concession option for your friends. It will then only charge you for those climbers.
Why do I need to complete and sign a new waiver/consent form?
This could be for a couple of different reasons. Firstly, it could be that you have turned 18 during the lockdown period, and therefore you’ll need to complete a new one as an independent, self reliant adult! The second reason is that we are introducing a revised, more concise and up to date form and so will be transferring people over to this new waiver. We will be rolling this out in a phased approach so expect to be asked to resign our waiver at some point over the coming weeks when you check in for your session.
Do I need to leave straight away at the end of my session?
If you are not staying for a drink from the cafe (in which case we ask that you take your drink into the garden area while we sanitise the centre) we ask that you do leave promptly to allow us the changeover time.
Please note that you need to check out of the centre as well as check in – this is so that we can keep an accurate record for ‘track and trace’ should it be necessary.
What if I am getting towards the end of my session, but I don’t want to stop climbing?
We are happy for you to come to reception before your session ends and enquire as to whether there are any slots available on the following session. If it is less than 45 minutes before the session start time and we have capacity then you are welcome to book the next session and stay on. There is no additional charge for this.
HOWEVER, please note that we will ask you to remain in the garden or the café during the fifteen-minute cleaning period between bookings.
I love your new garden area! Can I smoke out there?
No, sorry! This is a no smoking facility and that extends to our outside spaces. If you would like to smoke, please head for the boundary of our premises by the low fence/footpath and dispose of your butts responsibly.
I’d like to come and watch my friend/partner/family member climb, but I don’t want to climb myself. Am I still allowed in?
Yes, please do! Our café is open for a limited range of food and drinks. Please just ensure that you check in with our staff at reception (as we monitor numbers in the centre currently) and then check out when you leave.
Do I have to wear a mask for my session?
You are more than welcome to wear a mask, but it is not compulsory. However, we would strongly urge you to make the most of the sanitising stations in and around the centre, sanitising on entry to the centre and between climbs, and to socially distance when climbing.
